My time as phoobia has come to a final end.

A year ago, around this time, I came up with the name phoobia. It was a variation of phobia, as phobia was already taken on most sites.

I chose the word phobia.. because it was me. It was symbolistic of a life led by fear. Fear of pain. Fear of rejection. Fear of being alone. Fear of death. Fear of being hurt. Fear of someone finding out all my dirty secrets.

Phobia.. a phobia is an irational and exagerated fear of something, dispite reassurance that the 'something' in question posses no real threat. Yes.. yes that was me in a whole.

It wasnt a life, it was a prison. A prison for my mind, formed and crafted from my own fear.



I wont continue to live like that. I refuse. And being so, phobia is no longer a sufficient or logical title for me.

Phobia had a hard life. He's seen alot of pain and very little happiness, in his year of life. But he saw you, Amy. And he saw you, Natalie. He's had the two greatest people in my life. And so I have no regrets.

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

thanks for your comment, and your honesty. it wasn't intended to have any greater meaning or purpose, i'm not going to try to "excuse it as something else"...personally, i just find beauty in some compositions of simple lines and shapes. most of the photos in my paris series follow this basic theme. it's certainly not for everyone though, so you're more than entitled to your opinion. i think it's kinda nice, actually, to be reminded that not everyone agrees with me ;) (Wink)

I noticed your comment to gussabi about wanting to be able to draw "like that". I say this to a lot of people....drawing is a skill. To get better at it, you have to practice it. Some people have more talent (inborn) than others, but EVERYONE can learn to draw. Especially anatomy. You just have to do it. And do it. You know? It takes years, man. And practice. Classes and good teachers help. So do good books and studying anatomy from the skeleton up.

And yes, being able to draw does help make life worth living.

You know something phoobia? You, as a deviant here came across my mind the other day. I noticed how much the anatomy on my drawings have changed sense you made comments about it. Now that I look at your comments in a different view, I wanna thank you. Because I suppose you urged me to change the style. So, if you ever feel like coming to come comment on my new anatomy, please do so.
